Thought of ideas for new OMS awhile ago, forgot, this jogged my memory. thanks 
For the smaller strike it would make sense for them to be fired from the MCC instead of from space.
Some ideas I had:
- Direct laser (dat name)
Fires similar to the current Precision Strike (minus the warning lights, some damage, and duration) but fired directly from the MCC to the target location.
This meas that it is possible for it be blocked by structures (not just roofs) because it travels along X axis (horizontal) as well as Y (vertical (a tiny bit, the MCC is in the air after all))
It also means it can hit areas that the Precision Strike can't.
Highlites areas of the map that the MCC is unable to strike while you are selecting location. (Perhaps instead of overhead view, it gives view from MCC?)
- Missile barrage/Single missile strike
Fires multiple or a single missile from the MCC that go up then come down on target area (like the NULL Cannons do to the MCC)
- Drop pod insertion
Similar to what happens from 1:30 to 1:50 in the Immortal clone soldiers trailer
Fired from MCC (goes up to gain altitude then comes back down, so it has a minimum range)
Spawn in MCC with your squad and jump in.
Helps to counter redlines by getting them (redlined team) to the other side of the map in a couple seconds.
- Drone support (If drones are implemeted)
MCC launches several drones (1-3 maybe 4?) to an area to provide close air support.
Not sure if drones in EVE have an operational time limit or anything that meas they HAVE to recall to ship, if so, should give the drones a time limit, say 0:30-1:30(?) of actually being at the TARGET LOCATION (does not include travel time)
While there any enemies that the drone can scan are broadcast to the ENTIRE TEAM (similar to how squads currently work, but entire team instead)
(For those saying that 30s isn't very long, it's long enough for a few drones to kill your entire team if they're in the area and are all infantry (unless you have an AV guy ready) because you would have to deal with the drones + the enemy infantry.)

Huh, so think bigger, is that it? Ok then.
- Laser Strafe
Fires the same as the current precision strike, but instead of focusing all fire on a single spot the lasers are directed in a line from point A to point B. Means incresed AoE but less lasers hit the same area, good for mobile targets.
"Oh if I fire a precision strike at your tank you'll just move it? Well what if I have the strike follow your tank?"
Now I'm going to stop ther because I don't know what the upper limit is, I mean, are they saying a Titan will be able to use its super weapons on the planet? Aside from nukes n things that'll wipe out the entire area I can't think of anything other than variations of the Precision Strike. |
